Beesmark.

I remember learning state capitols in grade school by looking at amusing pictures that made you sound out part of the name, a sort of mnemonic device. And as a prideful North Dakotan youth, I distinctly remember these two bees sitting in a cave marking these stone tablets. Beesmark.

And now my in-laws live there! We were glad to finally be guests in their new Bismarck home. It really was a relaxing fun week that flew by too fast. Here are some of my fav moments and people we saw:

Auntie Amy and Uncle Andrew - so glad they live close!

Chris and Lilli, our Utah family, spent the week with us too!

Hey, this guy looks like my dad!

The Weisbecks stopped by for a night of fun! Thanks for the great Twins and Sioux gear!

Cousins!

Whenever these boy cousins get together, there is undoubtedly a freakishly long board game involved. Like Risk (seen above).

Barb and Sarah came for a few days too. And whenever there is family, there is good food! I blame this for the reason I started to gain back all the baby weight I had already lost. So worth it though!

What a sweet shot with Auntie Barb, who is always behind the camera like me!

Enjoying our China-crew inspired London Sprites and the Lindvig's funny head massager.

What fun with cousin cousin Sarah!

It was so precious to catch this moment during the crazy of a full house. I happened to hear Lilli reading Eli a story. Alas, she was just making up her own glorious story and flipping random pages... but her fully attentive listener didn't care! Too cute!

Eli thinks Uncle Andrew has great hair.

And now for a few shots of the crazy water that has taken over much of North Dakota this year. We caught only the tail end of it but the remnants of all the mess still exist. An example - the local grocery store:

They were worried about the dike breaking and brought in sandbags for protection.

And if you click on this taken-from-the-window-of-our-moving-car-over-the-bridge photo, you can see all these fancy pants homes that are being kept dry by a host of sandbags:

Bismarck didn't get flooding like Minot did. Parts of Minot are a complete disaster right now, with so many losing their homes completely and others having to gut out all that was ruined. Thanks to those we know that have helped out, it's dirty work but so needed!
