Games?!

Greg and I need new games to play together. We have Boggle. I am Boggled-out. I can only lose so many times to my extremely word-infused husband before I get too crabby. Seriously, he wins 90% of the time and always has like 8 letter words. Come on! I guess that's what you get for proofreading and studying and reading all the time. So I am in need of good ideas for games for two people. We aren't super big game people but often when I have a migraine, a game helps the time go by and allows us to have fun together too (and headache = no screen watching of any sort). Board games, card games, whatever. I know there are good two-person card games out there but all I can ever think of is 31 and King's Corner. Lame. Let me know your suggestions and ideas! And because I haven't posted a photo in awhile... here's Maelee's name in Boggle (using all the letters and the K and I twice (not legal in real Boggle))! -Heather

I love the Maelee bear- so sweet!

Mancala- ancient Ejyptian game. I could let you borrow it to try it out

Jenga, Scattergories(another word game), connect four (maybe too much noise for a migraine), battleship- all these we have. There are others I'm sure and I'd like to expand our collection sometime. UNO card game- to make it more interesting between 2 people, pull out 5 or 10 cards before playing. Monopoly if you have alot of time to kill.

UNO is the one that always keeps Adam and I busy for hours.... or until I win (which ever happens first).

You could always set up a scavenger hunt and hide a surprise at the end. My friend and I used to do that all the time and now that I'm remembering it, I want to do it again!

Heather- I am SO on your side... Once I told Jon we weren't going to bed until I won (and he couldn't cheat to let me win). Let's just say we played Boggle until the wee hours of the morning and I'm almost positive that Jon let me win.
I'd stay away from Scrabble and Cribbage too. Those are pretty painful as well! :) Maybe one day we can gang up on our husbands and actually win a game! Until then, sister, I can TOTALLY relate to this!

Farkle (it's $4.99). It's a dice game, somewhat similar to Yahtzee, but not so much strategy. And Bananograms (it's $14.99). Similar to Scrabble, but no board and not so much strategy. Can you tell I like games where you don't have to think too much?! :) Both of these are great two-person games.

I like farkel too! Also yahtzee is a good game. Just make sure you roll the dice on a cloth! Greg and I play best score of 6 games. Othello is another fun one - but greg beats me on this one...

Wes and I love Sequence. And he is trying to teach me to play Settlers of Catan. That gives me a headache! It is fun, though. We go round and round about games, he likes strategy games. I lose EVERY time we play a strategy game. Maybe that is why he likes them so much... :)

I got nothing on the games front (but I do like Sequence), but I must say Maelee's name in Boggle letters is very impressive! that was not easy! You should get an "honorary" win just for that.

Oh, just thought of a game called Snatch. But it is another word game and you might not like it? But maybe...?

newspaper crosswords. Although it's not really a "game", it can be a fun mutual activity.
